Our TY Local History students returned to Kilkenny Fire Station for a hands-on exploration of our vital local service.
Students learned how modern fire engines operate and examined the wide range of equipment carried for fires, rescues and road traffic incidents. A highlight was the practical focus on CPR and defibrillators, with demonstrations showing how quick action can save lives.
The visit brought local history into the present, helping students understand how community safety, training, and technology continue to evolve while serving Kilkenny every day.
