Ms Evison’s TY students enjoyed a wonderful educational trip through Kilkenny City, exploring culture, history and community life.
The group first visited Kilkenny Mayfair Library for the exhibition Faces and Stories: An International Cultural Exhibition. Students engaged with the experiences and reflections of people from many different backgrounds now living in Kilkenny, offering a thoughtful insight into the city’s diverse and changing community. On the way home, students also enjoyed spotting the garden of one of Kilkenny’s well-known Elvis enthusiast, an unexpected and memorable local landmark.
The class then visited Black Abbey, where they explored over 800 years of local history, before continuing to Medieval Mile Museum for a fascinating journey through Kilkenny’s medieval past.
