The 1st year soccer team brought the curtain down on their season today as Pobail exacted revenge for their defeat 3 weeks ago.
As CBC struggled to settle in windy conditions, Pobail took an early 2 goal lead. However, the home team fought back and narrowly failed to take two good chances before keeper turned striker Shay Massey pulled one back to rapturous cheers on the sideline.
At half-time CBC made 10 changes and with the wind now in their favour they began to take control but despite efforts from Shadama, Safwan and Harry Long, couldn’t turn the possession into goals. Only a brilliant reaction save from Cian Dowling from close range kept one goal between them. That didn’t last long though as a penalty was expertly converted and soon after Pobail wrapped it up at the death for a deserved 4-1 win.
